  • 01/22 6:30pm –The Big Read:  A Tom Sawyer Experience Opening, Fairfield Art Center, Opening of exhibit of Twain- and Sawyer-related art, photos and other items.  Continues through March 14.

  • 01/23 7:00pm - DeVita talks about adaptation, Björklunden, Author/playwright/actor James DeVita speaks about the process of adaptation in turning Twain's book into his play "Tom Sawyer"

  • 01/24 10:00am - Children's Day at the Fairfield, Fairfield Art Center, Children's events from 10 - 2 with fence-painting and picture-taking.

  • 01/26 7:00pm - "Is He Dead?" public reading, Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Door County, The Clearing class studying David Ives' Tony-nominated adaptation of Twain's farce presents a staged reading of the play, directed by Alan Kopischke.

  • 01/27 6:30pm - Book Discussion, Sister Bay/Liberty Grove Library, Gary Jones will compare Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer

  • 01/31 7:00pm - The Boys in Autumn, Birch Creek Music Performance Center, Isadoora Theatre Company presents a staged reading of Bernard Sabath's conjecture of life 50 years later for Tom and Huck. Directed by Ross Dippel.

  • 02/03 7:00 pm "Life on the Mississippi" Third Avenue Playhouse

    American Folklore Theatre presents a staged reading/sing-through of the new musical "Life on the Mississippi." Young Samuel Clemens leaves home to learn steamboat piloting on a Mississippi riverboat in 1858 and unexpectedly finds himself learning about life, death, love and writing all while navigating his way from boyhood to manhood and from Samuel Clemens to Mark Twain. Based on Twain's autobiographical coming-of-age tale.

  • 02/13 & 14 – 7:00pm "Tom Sawyer" by James DeVita, Sevastopol School, Sevastopol students perform in James DeVita's "Tom Sawyer" directed by Alan Kopischke.  Ticket information currently not available.
